My name is Matt, and I'd really like to be very open about my life on this page, but that seems like a bad idea given how easy it is for bad actors to slurp up personal data and weaponize it for scams and such. So, the short version is that I was born in the late 1970s, I'm extremely happily married, I live in Chicago, and I'm really into TTRPGs and all the usual other nerdy shit.

I've been building websites since the '90s, and I've made various sites and blogs called "Groove Pit" on and off over the years. There isn't really an explanation for the name beyond "It sounded cool when I was a teenager". This incarnation of the Groove Pit mostly exists because I got tired of platforms and content management systems: I just felt like hand-coding everything and man, it's so good to just have control of it all!

So, most of what I post here is RPG-related, because that's kind of my main interest these days. But the site isn't officially about anything in particular, so I suppose I'll meander off that topic from time to time.
